i take long , hot baths and showers and when i get out i feel weak and light headed and feel like im about to pass out ... why?

Vasodilation.: Hot water causes your temperature to rise and your peripheral blood vessels to dilate.  This may increase the volume of your circulatory system rather dramatically.  If your blood volume is a bit on the low side ( as may happen in the am ) you can drop your blood pressure enough to get light headed. Sometimes people can pass out in a hot shower.

You were: Probably very overheated. Don't take those very hot showers! I would not be worried as overheating like that can happen to anyone .

Dehydrated: More then likely your dehydrated - drink more water.

Shower symptoms: It's possible this is a form of a "vagal reaction" which can be induced by a "hot" shower. If this occurs, one's blood pressure can drop and cause light headedness and perhaps some shortness of breath. Try lowering the temperature and minimize hot water exposure directly to the face.

Heat of shower: And standing can cause peripheral vasodilation and increased blood flow to the lower extremities - can cause slight drop in systolic blood pressure and if your friend has a lower end BP anyhow, this can cause temporary decreased blood flow within the brain and symptoms of  light headedness, dizziness, visual disturbances, etc.

rarely i wake up at night with rectal pain. recently i had it and it was extremely painful. i felt nauseous, light headed, my arms started falling asleep. i used prep h and that helped as well as a hot shower. why would arms tingle? wasn't hypervnt

Abnormal unrelated: You have nocturnal rectal pain.  That is abnormal.  It wakes you up and that is abnormal.  You either have hemorrhoids or you have constipation.  So record you bowel movements ( how many and how often per day) and your diet(what are you eating and drinking).  This should be treated.  You should see your doctor with this history.  Unrelated is that you are probably sleeping on your arms.

Make sure: you are eating properly and also have fluid intake.  If you are doing this it is not normal to be light headed and dizzy for four days in a row.  Any headaches or visual symptoms? Any muscle pain or pain on blinking your eyes?  See a doctor if this persists.

See doctor....: If you are coughing so much that you are getting light-headed, you need to see your doctor so your cough can be diagnosed and treated. Common causes of cough include acute bronchitis, bronchospasm, gerd, post-nasal drip. All of these have different treatments and your cough can be due to more than one cause. If smoking, you need to quit today! if you are short of breath, go to the er.

Low brain blood flow: Low blood pressure or sudden movement can create temporary decreases in blood flow to your brain.  Dehydration, over medication, low blood sugar....
A medical work up is recommended.

Hydration and diet: Some people become lightheaded when changing to standing from a sitting or laying position. Move so slowly to let your body adjust to blood moving away from your head. Drinking plenty of fluids and maintaining a well balanced diet are helpful in preventing lightheaded feelings. If you are still noticing these episodes, see your doctor to have the problem investigated further.
