Early labor signal?: Old blood appears brownish. Did your OB examine you recently? Did you have intercourse? Is it still there, more profuse, reddish? Are you having contractions, pressure or pain in the pelvis? These are some questions you will be asked by your OB or his associate. Discharge can herald labor. A third trimester baby can have risks if born before term. So most obs would want to evaluate or speak to you.

Late 3rd TM ?'s: In the late third TM, a brown discharge probably represents  the fetus "dropping" lower in the birth canal, which opens the upper cervical canal, leading to a little bleeding (brown discharge).  See your OB physician to see if your membranes are ruptured, producing the water discharge.

Not normal: Please call your OB as you may have a vaginal infection, but u need to make sure your cervix is not starting to open or nothing bad is going on with the placenta your OB can do an exam and an ultrasound and vaginal cultures.

Can be: Lower abd pain and discharge can be normal in the last trimester, but usually around 36 weeks.  I worry about  infection, premature dilating of the cervix or bladder problem in your situation.  Call your Ob doctor soon!

Yes: Vaginal discharge changes in the 3rd trimester.  It can get thick and white or thin and watery.  White discharge is usually normal, however, if it is clumpy or accompanied by itching, pain, or a fishy odor it may be a sign of a yeast or bacterial infection.

Yes: Yes, it could be bacterial vaginitis. Stop self medicating and inform your treating OB MD of this problem for evaluation and possible treatment.

A little bit of brown discharge is common in most pregnancies.  You should definitely mention to your doctor, and possibly refrain from intercourse until you see your doctor.

Check with your doc: Any discharge during pregnancy needs to be run by your doctor.  Sometimes after intercourse, you can have a small amount of bleeding or discharge, but even that needs to be reviewed by your doctor.
