Lichen sclerosus of the genital skin should be treated. Even if it isn't painful or itchy, the patches can scar. This can cause problems with urination or sex. There is also a very small chance that skin cancer may develop in the patches.

Your doctor will monitor you for side effects associated with prolonged use.

Can be: Lichen sclerosus can progress to vulvar cancer. The resorption of the labia and clitoral hood cause the changes you have noticed.  The condition is treatable, but you need to see your gynecologist.

No: I am not aware of any dietary changes that would effect lichen sclerosis.  Best treatment is regular use of topical steroid creams.

Circumcision: Data regarding the incidence of lichen sclerosus et atrophicus on male genitalia has not been fully researched, however, it appears that men who are circumcised have a much lower risk of developing or suffering from lichen sclerosus.  The use of later adult circumcision as a treatment is controversial with some studies suggesting that it is not necessarily helpful.
