working w docs but is there any other drug besides paxil (paroxetine) that doesn't cause lots of weight gain and major constipation? i tried lexapro, not good.

Bupropion: Bupropion or Wellbutrin (bupropion) is the antidepressant thought to be associated with less weight gain and, fortunately, fewer sexual side effects as well. In addition, an older class of anti-depressants, tricyclics including amitriptyline, do not typically cause weight gain. Finally, a less often used class of anti-depressants, MAO inhibitors, may be worth consideration. Work with your doctor. Good luck:)

A lot of med: It is not the Flovent or Nasonex (mometasone) but the oral Prednisone which is of concern.  Prednisone usually makes people feel good but may induce depression in a few.  Singulair rarely causes mental issues.  It appears that you may have steroid-resistant asthma and i think it is time for you to consult an allergist. A drug reaction is best treated by stopping the drug and not with another drug.

Good start: It sounds like you are being treated for an anxiety disorder.  Both drugs are approved for this diagnosis.  Since you have demonstrated some sensitivity to medications your physician is being cautious and starting at low doses.  Be sure to give your health care provider feedback on how you are doing so that the doses can be adjusted upward or downward if needed.

Depeneds.: If a medication makes you drowsy take it at bed time.  If it invigorates you take it in the morning.  If it does neither take it when it is convenient.
