Go see an Orthopedic: An orthopedic doctor can help you best. I doubt that you spine is getting out of shape. But you need to be checked and assured that all is well.(by the way there are only 5 lumber vertebrae...So you should not have l6!

two years ago i had a back operation (l1/l2 decompression and fusion). fast forward, in the past two to three months i have been having pains that move all over the body. pains that come and go. neck, arms, feet, lower back, head pains.

Pain: First question - were any of these MRI findings believed to be the cause of the back and left side pain?  Has an orthopedic surgeon been consulted?  If not, recommend that.  Depending on his/her findings - there may be a number of treatment options.  Acupuncture won't fix the actual intervertebral disc problems but it can often reduce inflammation in the surrounding area &amp; improve range of motion,

i've been told i have no cartilage left between my l1 and l2. is there a fix for this?

No cure: Unfortunately once cartilage goes, it is gone. But the mere fact that your disc has degenerated does not necessarily mean that you will have back pain, nor does it necessarily mean that back pain you may already have is related to l1-2 disc disease. Keep fit, use proper body mechanics, exercise, control your weight.

i have a cyst on my aorta at l1:l2 level on the left , can this be dangerous , an mri found it accidentally?

Cyst: Some doctors prefer to monitor cysts on blood vessels over time but if the cyst is large enough you could be recommended to have vascular surgery consult to decide if they will intervene.

This : This sounds like an excerpt from an MRI or myelogram of the lower spine.  What's being described is a fairly typical finding for someone with degenerative disc disease and is not by itself too worrisome.  If, on the other hand, you are having some back pain or some pain radiating down your left leg, then this disc problem could certainly explain those symptoms.

There are a lot of things that can be done to treat this problem--if it is symptomatic--ranging from physical therapy to local steroid injections to surgery. I agree with the previous answer, which was that you should consider seeing a spine specialist, though i would add that going straight to surgery would probably be overly aggressive.

is it possible that a herniated dics at l2/l3 can be the primary cause of bilateral hamstring pain or can it be attributed to stenosis from l1-l4?

Yes: Both a disc hernaition at l2-3 and lumbar stenosis from L1 to L4 can cause pain in the back of the thighs. A significant disc herniation may cause lumbar stenosis.

dull pain lowest left rib for 1 yr. flares but improves. seems posture related. loads of tests all clear organs ruled out. at worst i also feel pain up in my left shoulder and neck. i do have left pars l2 defect. pcp not concerned, what else to try?

: Left pars L2 defect should not cause symptom of the thorax. If you think your pain is postured related you should be evaluated by a physiotherapist.

Not typically: Typically due to compressive pathology of the L4 nerve root or L5 -- most commonly at the l4-5 level. Not just a small herniated disc. There are other causes: neuromuscular, peripheral sciatic or peroneal nerve palsies or injuries. See your spine surgeon.
