No: the only way to know is to check your blood test.  the hot nodule  is probably causing you to be hyperthyroid but only labs can tell you that. You will need to see your doc to biopsy the cold nodule. It's has a higher risk of cancer if it's cold. Keep in mind most cold nodules are still benign but in your case, it should be biopsied since it's a large, cold nodule.

Yes: Sorry to say it like that but you need to definitely have this checked out. It seems like you have had it looked at on MRI or something to know the size, an endocrinologist or thyroid surgeon needs to see you for this.  What are your other syptoms? Those matter as well.

Watch/retest: Unless you have a thyroid cancer history, the nodule is suspicious on ultrasound or other factors are in play -- check serum thyroglobulin and thyroid function. Repeat doctor's exam an ultrasound in a year. Generally of very low significance and found in over 50% of the population.

Need further tests: Thyroid nodules can be benign or cancerous. You need to have a fine needle aspiration of the nodules to make sure that they are benign. Only about 5% of thyroid nodules are cancer but you need the aspiration to prove that yours are benign.

Thyroid nodule: Its means the cells are of different texture or type on imaging. I recommended a visit to an ENT - ear, nose, and throat or endocrine doc. Sounds like you need a biopsy, called a FNA.

Recommend biopsy: Although there are characteristic finding on us that help up get an idea of what type of nodule it is. The gold standard for diagnosis is a us guided needle biopsy. It is relatively non invasive and has good accuracy.

FNA not essential : As the nodule is less than 1 cm . FNA biopsy is not essential in most cases. But if any risk factors like history of radiation to head or neck or family history of thyroid cancer then need to follow up more closely by ultrasound and may also consider FNA biopsy

: Thyroid nodules or cysts are common. I wonder what the reason you had thyroid US done. The work up will depend on your TSH level and the nodule characteristics by ultrasound. Most of the time needle biopsy (fine needle aspiration FNA) is not considered for thyroid nodule less than 10 mm unless the nodule has characteristic features of a malignant nodule.

Thyroid nodule: 5x4x3 mm is quite small for a thyroid lesion and may not need immediate attention.

Hopefully all of the necessary studies - labs and xrays, etc. - and your doctor has described everything to you. If not see your doctor again.
