: Have you had this before? If red with being painful you may want to see a medical professional to evaluate for possible infection that may require antibiotics. If the pain is from swelling that stretches the skin, and that is unlikely if very painful, you may put warm compress in addition to elevation and pain medication. Compression stockings may be helpful if ongoing swelling for a while.

:  A 2 liter bottle weights 4.4lbs. This is a significant amount of weight to drop on a foot. The force could have caused a fracture or torn a ligament. I would suggest that you go to an urgent care facility that has the capacity to do an xray and have your foot examined and imaged. Delaying treatment for a fracture can cause significant problems in healing and long term foot/walking problems.
