Twitch: Usually twitching of lids is not serious. Since your problem has been present for a long period of time you should an ophthalmologist for evaluation.Important to be proactive.

See a neurologist: or Orofacial Pain specialist. Most causes of orofacial pain are benign and harmless. However, if you have facial pain with eye twitching that seems to come without any known cause (e.g. trauma), call your doctor for evaluation and referral to a neurologist or OFP.

Blepharitis: Most common and least dangerous cause for eyelid twitching is blepharitis, a blockage of the oil glands of the eyelids.  Usually best treated by scrubbing the edges of the eyelids with a cotton swab wet with hot water with a tiny dab of baby shampoo on the tip, followed by rinsing the closed eye with warm water.  To be sure, see an eye md.

Blepharospasm: Possibly could be hemifacial spasm, a neuromuscular disorder that is treated with Botox injections or surgery.  The best person to see for this would be a neuro-ophthalmologist who can rule out other causes and recommend a course of treatment.

Myokymia: Eyelid twitching is common and benign.  There are no real treatments for this except tincture of time.  Some have found that supplemental calcium helps shorten the episodes.  This is not related to the pain in your chest.  See your primary doctor for that please.

i have been having left eye twitching. ophthalmologist said everything is fine. i am trying to stop caffeine. will it only go away once i am stop?

Blepharospasm: Likely stress. Keep track of sleep. Limit alcohol and caffeine. Take a break from screens (computer, phone, tv). Should go away within days however I’ve personally had it intermittently for a few weeks. Mostly just annoying.
