Blepharitis: Most common and least dangerous cause for eyelid twitching is blepharitis, a blockage of the oil glands of the eyelids. Usually best treated by scrubbing the edges of the eyelids with a cotton swab wet with hot water with a tiny dab of baby shampoo on the tip, followed by rinsing the closed eye with warm water. To be sure, see an eye md.

Eyelid twitching: Could be simple eyelid myokymia or hemifacial spasm. Can be treated with Botox or surgery if intrusive. See an ophthalmologist.
