Seek help ASAP: Truely severe pain ( pain not controlled by over the counter meds and pain which you can not rest or sit still with) might be infection, fracture, gout, rheumatoid arthritis. Waiting can cause permanent damage. Seek help asap.

Epicondylitis: It is called a medial epicondylitis which is the bony node you feel on the inside of the elbow, It can irritate the ulnar nerve as well. It is generally easy to treat. see an orthopedist.

Nerve compression: The nerves allow you to have sensation, and if it has been numb for a day, there may be a compression of a nerve that supplies that area.  This can be from various things such as direct pressure and/or injury.  Have it checked  if you are concerned.

Spasm returns: Knots are a type of cramp or muscle spasm. When a massage releases a muscle spasm it doesn't always stay released, particularly if you keep doing the same thing(s) that caused the spasm in the first place. Too much body frame weight, the wrong shoes, strain caused by stress bad exercises, bad pillow, etc. Could all be causes of the spasm. Find the source of spasm, address it and feel it disappear.

Trauma: This is usually trauma but not necessarily severe to the ulnar nerve. Simple contusion can do this. If you also rest your arm on the elbow area this may be the cause. See your doctor for the exam and treatment.

Not usually: Growing pains most commonly in legs and usually in legs. Elbow pain usually from trauma, overuse, and sometimes arthritis. If frequent pain  should see physician for workup including physical exam and sometimes imaging.

See a doctor: The pain sounds neurologic in description.  It could be a pinched nerve in the back.  
Start with a doctor visit for an exam.  Can use pharmacy meds like Tylenol or ibuprofen as labelled on the bottle.
Avoid the position of pain.

: I would suggest that you check your arm for any changes like in the skin or compare it with the right arm to see if different in anyway like swelling. It may be a neuropathic pain due to pressure on a nerve that may be entrapped at the elbow. There is not enough information other than give you a general idea and consider physical evaluation by a clinician.
