No: Most likely the pain is coming from the chest wall due to muscle strain. If muscular maneuvers reproduce the pain, such as twisting or stretching the rib cage by bending from side to side, it further suggests chest wall pain. You may also find a tender area in the chest.

Pleuritic......: This type of chest pain is called pleuritic chest pain and can be caused by many different problems including pneumonia, asthma, bronchitis, rib contusion/fracture, collapsed lung, blood clot in the lung, etc. In general, if you have associated shortness of breath and/or a fever, then you should go to the er as some of the above diagnoses are life-threatening. If unsure, be cautious and go to er.

Chest Wall Pain: The type of pain you describe seems to be coming from the chest wall either in the muscle or the bones or an inflammation called costochondritis.You can try over the counter aleve (naproxen) or ibuprofen and if pain still persist check with your doctor

Unlikely: Pain in your chest that changes with a deep breath is generally from rib cage, or inflammatory lung issue. Feeling an irregular hear beat is very common, and usually harmless.  See you provider, and appropriate testing can be done.

Working too hard: You are likely exceeding your maximum exercise heart rate.  Exercise heart rate should be 80% of you age maximum.  If you are 28 y/o male, that number should be 150-155 beats per minute.  At 170+ bpm, you are working your heart too hard and it is telling you (your symptoms described above) to turn it down a notch.  Those are symptoms of cardiac stress.  Build up your exercise program slowly.
