21, been v sick the past five months and cardiologist suspects pots. recently been getting a lot of left arm aching. why do pots sufferers get mostly left-sided arm pain and chest pain?

POTS: Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome is a condition in which the heart abnormally has an exaggerated increase in heart rate in change in position from lying down to standing up. This can result in varied symptoms including palpitations, dizziness, fainting (less brain flow), chest pain, numbness/tingling. You should see your cardiologist for continued management.

hello recently i have been experiencing left chest pain when i'm breathing in after eating usually and when i'm laying down sometimes a bit of left arm pain but it just feels a bit sore could be from on it when i move my chest to the left it hurts?

: Your symptoms are more characteristic of a musculoskeletal cause in the rib cage or pinched intercostal nerve that runs between 2 ribs. Other causes such as heart,lung or esophageal causes are quite unlikely. Could you have strained or injured your rib cage recently? Any tender spots? If symptoms don't resolve see your physician for evaluation and any appropriate testing.

Pain: It sounds as if you are suffering from generalized anxiety symptoms. You need to start relaxation exercises such as yoga and if that doesn't help then seeing a doctor would be advisable. Good Luck

Pains/aches: Not sure what is wrong but strongly suggest you get a referral to a heart specialist.

See below: Did your son have any trauma or falls was so had someone possibly pulled on his arm .? Is there swelling ?Where does the arm hurt the elbow shoulder ?These are questions that need to be ass you're better off probably seeing a pediatric orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible he may just have some mild sprain but again or evaluation would be warranted.

Pain: Left arm pain doesn't need to relate to the heart. In fact more commonly it is due to neck or shoulder problems which are felt in the arm.

Yes: Yes, the symptoms of cardiac disease can be quite variable, particularly in women.  Patients can definitely have even serious cardiac events with little or no chest pain.  A detailed exam and appropriate studies can usually determine the cause, cardiac or otherwise.  Consider being checked.

Left arm pain: Given age likely non cardiac cause BUT need a formal diagnosis. Anxiety is a diagnosis of exclusion.
