Less likely: If one ovulates then there are only two possible outcomes -- pregnancy or a menstrual cycle. Relying on cervical mucous to predict ovulation is not very reliable. I wold schedule a visit to have your discharge evaluated and determine if an infection is present. You can also discuss your irregular menstrual cycle.

'Not unusal': You did not state your age. However, every woman as we age will have an 'unusual cycle' ie, cycle may last longer, shorter, heavier flow, lighter flow, no cramps, more cramps. Nothing is 'wrong'. Generally in order to see a pattern, the same symptom has to occur for at least 3mos duration before further investigation is warranted.

Delayed period ?'s: Irregular bleeding and a delayed onset  may indicate pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic), but more common with stress is that ovulation is delayed, and therefore your menstrual bleeding.  If pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy, and ask your gyn physician about starting low dose oral bcp's, which will cause regular, predictable "periods".

Maybe, maybe not...: It can be hard to tell if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women.  A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result if done correctly.  One can test about 3 weeks after sex (when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period.  An ob-gyn doctor can evaluate any persistent or worrisome symptoms.

Doubtful: If I understand correctly, you are saying that your period was 3 days late, but that you did eventually have it, and that it was of an unusual character. If you had anything like a period, even late, then it is very unlikely that you are pregnant. Try taking an OTC pregnancy test to be more sure, but I think you are unlikely to be pregnant.

Unlikely: Having a period is not compatible with pregnancy. If you have any concern, you should get a blood test for HCG level.

Pregnant with pain ?: A delayed period followed by intermittent bleeding may be caused by pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic).  Obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about pregnancy, and see your gyn ASAP if positive.  There are other causes of delayed periods, and your gyn can do other testing.

Any chance of preg?: Pregnancy is the most common cause of a missed period. If not pregnant, other causes of a late or missed period include:  excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (especially birth control pills), hormonal disorders, etc…  a visit to one’s ob-gyn doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome.
