have large dark floater & glaucoma in right eye & today developed large floater in left eye.  do floaters have anything to do with glaucoma?

Floaters: Floaters are common and usually due to a change in the protein composition of the vitreous (inside gel of the eye). Rarely are they due to inflammation which can be connected with glaucoma (otherwise they are un-related). Check with your eyemd that they are "just" floaters and not inflammation in the eye.

i wake up with large "floaters" in my left eye along with cloudy/blurred out vision. it almost feels and looks like grey grocery bags that float over.

You need to be: evaluated as soon as possible. It sounds like you may have a retinal detachment or other intraoccular issue. The sooner you get evaluated the less likely you are to lose vision permanently in that eye. Go to your eye doctor ASAP.

Floaters: Floaters are common and usually due to a change in the protein composition of the vitreous (inside gel of the eye). The best way to "treat" them is to allow the brain to adjust: so cognitive therapy in effect might help (no randomized controlled study to prove that yet to my knowledge); [check with your eyemd that they are "just" floaters and not inflammation in the eye.]-sounds like you did :).

i've had a sudden large floater in my right eye along with a feeling that there's a smudge on my glasses lens. i had a fall two days ago & broke my elbow. no head injury. could my eye be related? is this something that needs to be addressed now? thx?

I'm concerned that you may have had a hole in your retina when you experienced sudden appearance of a large floater &amp; flashes of light. He/ she won't get involved with assessing or prescribing for refractive errors in your vision, but you'll have peace of mind about the status of your retina.

Weiss floaters: Weiss floaters are nearly always associated with posterior vitreous detachment. These floaters can be treated by laser ablation although the number of op docs who can do this is a bit restricted. You need a good dilated exam because PVD often precedes retinal detachment.

Headaches with a positional component it is always a red flag and need to be evaluated to exclude a lesion in the posterior fossa or a condition with low CSF pressure. Rec.: see an orofacial pain or headache specialist for further investigation and management.
