Do what doctor says: Follow the instructions of your surgeon. It all depends on the surgery, healing time, and your unique healing/health. This is a really important time to follow directions.

i just had laminectomy and discectomy surgery, is it concerning for me to have pain again down my leg?

Follow Up Needed: In some patients, having a nerve "un-pinched" or decompressed during surgery can be the equivalent of having an extremity "go to sleep" and then become painful and tingly when the extremity "wakes up". In other words, the nerve could be regenerating itself. You should still follow up with your surgeon to rule out a new pinched nerve or failed operation. Any more questions? Just ask.

i have done l4-l5 laminectomy and discectomy in dec 2012 .i have my backpain now.how long it take to recover? its good to do cleaning job?

Takes some time : Unfortunately only your surgeon knows the specifics of your case.  However back pain/incisional pain is common for several weeks after surgery.  Did you have improvement of your symptoms after surgery?  Was your problem predominantly back or leg pain?  Heavy lifting and prolonged bent posture may not be recommended depending on how far from surgery you are.  Please ask your surgeon for specifics.

i  had  a diskectomy  and laminectomy on l5s1 four weeks ago and have increasing pain . what could it be . also what else can  go wrong?

It could be several: Reasons including: scar tissue forming, a sign of  infection, recurrent disc herniation, further disc deterioration  to name a few or that you may be over doing it to much too early post op.  If your back pain preop was worse than leg pain,  then the prognosis is not good & you may have needed a fusion. Poor surgical risk factors include being overweight & smoking as well as being deconditioned.

7-14 days: Restricted duty typically allowed when patient comfortable.  Usually in about 7-14 days.  Check with your surgeon.

Talk to your surgeon: Usually improvement in flexibility and symptoms occurs in 3 to 6 weeks. Have your surgeon check you for problems and suggest treatment.

Ask your surgeon: It will likely be 6-8 weeks before you can resume vigorous activity, but a lot will depend on what surgical approach was taken, and only your primary surgeon should answer this one.

Surgery: You need to ask the orthopedic spine surgeon or the neurosurgeon to ask if that is the only option. We don't know your history.

is reherniation after lumbar laminectomy with discectomy possible?

No: If there was a complete diskectomy, there is nothing left to herniated, but if the surgeon just shaved the disk, then re-herniation can occur.

had a laminectomy/discectomy more back pain after then fusion to fix it at l3, 4 now herniation at l5 should my dr just do a fusion now or a lam/discec?

Depend on findings: I do not recommend prophylactic spinal arthrodesis. If you have a disc herniation at the l5-s1 level with associated radiculopathy associated with either the L5 or s1 nerve root that does not respond conservative care, then a decompressive laminotomy & dissecting may be indicated. If there is associated spinal instability  with associated dominating lower back pain, an arthrodesis may be indicated.
