No: Lamictal is an anti-seizure and mood-stabilizing medication. I am not aware of it's efficacy for adhd.

You may be: Using drugs to 'self medicate' bipolar/ cycothymic symptoms. If the bipolar disorder is properly treated - you may not crave this form of 'self medication'.

dlpa supplement interaction i would like to ask a question and i intend to consult with my psychiatrist first but would like a second opinion. i am on lamictal, paxil, lithium and adderall for adhd and a bipolarii. my mood disorder isn't my biggest burden

Hello, : Hello, there seems to be variable input on this issue.  Phenylalanine is an essential Amino Acid which is converted into tyrosine. Tyrosine is then used to produce Dopamine and norepinephrine.  Of course, both of these neurotransmitters are impacted by a number of psychotropic medications.  Dpla is contraindicated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and reportedly should not be used with atypical antipsychotics. The majority of sites recommended that d.L. Phenylalanine not  be used concurrently with standard antidepressant medications. Several sites recommended that dlpa not be used with Paxil (paroxetine) or with stimulants.   Use of dlpa can be associated with insomnia, headaches and increased blood pressure due to overstimulation of the central nervous system.   I could not find any literature  that addressed using dlpa with lithium.  It should be noted that the fda does not regulate supplements and that dosages of the active ingredients are often not standardized.

i am bipolar/adhd. i am taking trazodone 50mg, vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) 30mg, olanzapine 5mg, and lamictal 400mg.  will any of these interact negatively?

Few: The zyprexa and trazodone in combination can increase sedation. The trazodone and vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) in combination, the trazodone can also increase the effects of vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine). Work with your physician and he adjust the doses and medications accordingly. Follow the direction of your physician.

Adhd?: Not sure what your actual diagnosis was, since u r taking a mood stabilizer lamictal, or what the dosage is, but please review with you doctor the possible dose adjustment.

i have super bad adhd and bipolar anxiety depression insomnia......haven't had my meds in a long time bc of insurance i'm supposed to be taking vyvanse, wellbutrin, lamictal, xanax, and trazadon...i need it back i can't live like this what do i do?
