i have hsv 2 . and my son came up to me and kissed me on the corner of my mouth is it possible he will too now have hsv. i pray to god not i try to teach my children to not kiss me and i wash my hands so often to keep them from contracting anything?

: If you have active herpes lesions on the skin and another person comes in close contact with those lesions, the virus can be transmitted to that person. If there are no lesions in the area, the virus would be not transmitted to another person.

See a doctor: the uvula should see an oral surgeon and is usually left alone.  The tonsil problem should be see by an otolaryngologist and treatment will depend on symptoms

Needs clarification: Infected tonsils and lymphoma are two completely different things (lymphoma is a type of cancer). Having said that, yes if one has an acute tonsillitis, they can spread it to someone if they are playing tonsil hockey (kissing) with someone else....[unfortunately that will be the only hockey we will see for awhile due to the nhl lockout :( ].

Hard to say: These are normal findings for a 6-9 yo,usually associated with snoring during sleep and require no treatment. If a 4 yo or a 18 yo with any signs of sleep disturbance, they may need removal. Providing more information when you submit a question allows a more specific answer.

ive had a sore throat for 7 weeks. 4 weeks ago i had white spots on my tonsils. i also have had green mucus. its not strep throat. this happened immediately after i kissed someone new. a dr. on here said mono but i thought mono took months to show?

Can be tested: While it is true mono will take months to show, your "immediate" label is confusing. It would suggest an allergic response rather than a disease which would take a day or more at least. For it to last this long suggests you now have mono. The condition can be confirmed by blood tests.

Infection, not cance: Oral, throat infections will spread if you swap spit, not a peck on the cheek (but don't do that either, until infection is treated.
