how to tape my thumb to forefinger to keep it close to my hand?

Hard to do: The thumb usually ends close to where the finger begins. A simple wrap around just slips off the thumb when you sweat.  You can purchase or construct a thumb extender and then tape that to the thumb and index finger. Alternatively you can just tape both to the side of your face, but that tends to be rather cumbersome.

Shaking: or tremors common in the early phase of life is normal in a younger baby but at 8 months he does need a neurologic evaluation

Variable: generally 4-6wks. taping digits together is a good way to splint a joint. must work on motion. sometimes swelling takes alot longer to improve

As needed: Whenever it gets wet or dirty, or about every 3 days usually acceptable.

Tape is usually : Applied one of two ways. ( first make sure its not too tight and its better to have a trainer do it if available and the tape should not roll or be too tight aor be too sticky) either single tape to a joint on one digit or buddy tape to keep an injured finger next to another. If you buddy  tape often you avoid the joints and pad the area lightly between the fingers, iif you single tape a figure 8.

a specialist i visited, recommended taping my wrist to prevent further injuries to my hand and to relieve the pain of my painful carpal boss, saying the surgery is too much of a risk. how should i tape my hand and which tape/bandage should i use?

: You can get help from physical therapist specializing in hand for proper technique. Also you may want a second opinion from a Plastic surgeon with additional certification in Hand. Good luck.

docs,i have sprained my left hand last three fingers, pain is improving with rest,not much swelling.should i buddy tape them?when does it heal fully?

Injury: It depends partly on the type of injury and how severe it is. A mild sprain takes about 1 to 2 weeks to heal. Fractures can take weeks to months to heal.
It also depends on the person. Healthy children usually heal very quickly. Older adults or adults with other medical problems can take much longer to heal.
Consult a physician.

my 6 year old has 15 warts over her hands/feet, our doctor has only suggested duct taping them to kill them.  this doesn't seem adequate to me!  help?

Alternative therapy: True warts may fall of on their own in 3-5 years & may leave no marks. You can cut them off, freeze them with liquid nitrogen or n20 & burn them off with acid preparations. I consider duct tape with an acid application (compound w) a simple treatment that can  sometimes work, if done for months.Duct tape without anything else is unlikely to do anything.

No: Wart-removal acids sold over-the-counter can get rid of hand warts. One's primary care doctor or a dermatologist can freeze the warts. If a person has many warts on her hand, there are other medications that a dermatologist can try. Fruits are not going to get rid of warts... but sometimes warts do go away on their own.
