Kidney pain...: Differential diagnostic considerations would include kidney stones and urinary tract obstruction. Any groin pain?  Ultrasound may be helpful.

Lumbar radiculopathy: Hi!
kidney pain can mimic pain from the nerves that exit the spine; one difference is that pain from the nerves can radiate into the leg(s).  Inflammation of these nerves is caused "sciatica" or "lumbar radiculopathy".  
These symptoms are often evaluated with a urine analysis and a CT scan or MRI.

See answer below: To distinguish the two sources of pain one would look for associated symptoms.  For example, back pain may be associated with pain in the hip, buttock, or leg while kidney pain may be associated with fever and/or painful urination.  Back pain may worsen with activity while kidney pain would not.  Finally, back pain should ease off when lying down while kidney pain may not.

Yes: If the 6 mm stone has been in your ureter for that long, it is a problem.  If the stone is actually in your kidney and nonobstructing, having in there for six weeks is not  significant.

i have what i think is kidney pain on my back left side. it is very mild and sporadic and it started on saturday night. i took some melatonin to get to sleep and after a few hours there was this pain. this is the only symptom. what should i do?

Yes: Kidney stones often cause flank pain.  Especially with a history of stones, this should be a consideration.

UTI or Kidney Stone: This could be a number of things but i think it likely to be a kidney stone or a urine infection. You should get to your regular doctor asap to be evaluated. If you are having fever or worsening pain you should go to the er. Otherwise you should go to your regular doctor. This may be a sign of some blood in the urine also known as gross hematuria. This condition can be caused by many things.

got slight dull pain at the very left side of my abdomen, it seems like kidney pain i tried hydrating myself but i still can feel it its been a day what should i do?

: Pain from kidney is usually in the back. If the pain is not bothersome, you may watch and wait. If you are constipated, take a fiber laxative like Metamucil. If it gets worse, it would be prudent to see a doctor as it is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you.
