what can i take to alleviate kidney stone movement and pain?

See below: Drink liquids as you probably already know
tylenol with or without codeine
with fluids the stone will hopefully move and get eliminated
ask your doctor how to prevent further stones
have the stone analyses for its composition.

my hands & feet are always puffy in the a.m. it goes away with lots of movement. kidneys fine, bp fine, thyroid ok (on synthroid). what could cause?

CHF?: Puffy hands and feet in the morning could be congestive heart failure. It could also certainly be a kidney problem so i would double-check that and make sure they're fine.

*agree, but if you've had a complete work-up, see if it improves after days that you avoid salt and alcohol.*.

Other cause: Renal disease alone would not be expected to cause the loss of function in the lower extremities.

No, it shouldn't: Kidney stones shouldn't directly stop a bowel movement. Kidney stones are however very painful and one may be afraid to force down during a bowel movement for fear of more pain.Also pain medications, such as narcotics can cause constipation. Kidney stones itself have no direct relationship with the bowel.They can pass only via the urine-not stool.Hope this helps!

i have been having flank/left side pain for 5 days. is not constant and only hurts with movement and goes away when i rest. is it likely kidney? i dont have any symptoms per se of a uti either. no pain, cloudiness, etc?

: From this description more likely a back problem. Use local heat, Ibuprofen- if not better see your doc. Hope you do well

You need to be seen: This is not normal.  You should call your doctor and if not available be seen today to have urine checked and examine your abdomen.  Get well!

: Pain with stooling is not considered 'normal'.  The location of the pain in 'kidney areas' suggest one might be having chronic constipation or other bowel/ internal organs - like the urinary system issues. Best to see PCP or Gastroenterologist  to determine what next,

Muscle or bone: Chronic back discomfort on motion usually comes from musculoskeletal structures(spine or muscles of the back). Xrays of the spine would diagnose arthritis which may be the cause of the discomfort.

Possibly: Though the greatest problem with kidney stones is excruciating pain.  It is often correctly compared to childbirth pain.  However, it can cause colic, and that can make you feel like you need to defecate.
