Sprained ankle: If you are still having swelling and pain two months after your injury, then it may be more than a sprain.  Were you seen by a doctor for your injury?  If you were then you should get a follow up exam.  If you have not seen a doctor then it would be advisable to see an orthopedic doctor that works with athletes.

Time: It may take more time to heal, meaning more rest may be needed, however swelling is not normal and may indicate further pathology in your ankle.  You may need advanced imaging to detect any joint damage.  For now, try doing activities with a brace.  Hope that helps.
