how to treat a freezer pack burn?

SImple basic care: Burns are the response of the tissues to injury from temperature extremes.It is simply inflammation which means increase blood flow to the area to promote healing. Depth determines care.  Anti-inflammation medicines like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen) will help. Avoid any further damage as this can cause scarring . Good skin cream applied daily/gently help and keep the area protected from trauma.  No antibiotics.

Aftermath: direct skin cold temperature exposure can cause injuries to the skin but unusual to have the described symptoms 2 weeks later.  Allergic reaction? contact dermatitis? chemical  burn? I'm worried about an infection, cellulitis to be more precise.  Without knowing more I suggest you have this looked at by a dr asap

Many possibilities: There are a number of possibilities that could explain that symptom including chemical damage to the skin from hair products to nerve damage from a variety of causes. "burning" quality pain is typical for neuropathic or nerve damage pain. I would suggest you get in to see a neurologist or a pain management specialist for a good evaluation.

You could: Put ice on swollen area for eight minutes usually may reduce swelling and cause redness but if you have redness and feel pain you may want your doctor to take a look.

FEW DAYS IF NO BLIST: Burn caused by ice pack leaves a red mark which will disappear gradually in few days most of the time with or without treatment as long as there are no blisters or there has not been damage to the blood vessels or muscles underneath.Since you just have a red mark and no blisters and no deep tissue damage the redness may disappear in few days

i have been on a medrol (methylprednisolone) pack for the last 6 days i am worse off now then before the burning pain and numbness is terrible? when do i see a doctor?

Cervical traction, neck exercise, and physical therapy can help too. Call the doctor in the morning for additional treatment options.
