Kenalog (triamcinolone) old rx 4 cat: Kenalog (triamcinolone) is an injectable steroid that can suppress allergy symptoms but does nothing to alter allergic sensitization and can cause significant short and long term steroid side effects esp. If used repeatedly.   Due to better, safer therapies injectable and oral steroids are used much less than in the past. Cat allergy is cat allergy, but symptoms can change with time & in some kittens worse vs cat.

Frequent Kenalog (triamcinolone) dosing causes many side effects (diabetes, adrenal suppression etc)

Depends: Nystatin is used to treat fungal infections. Triamcinolone is topical steroid, which is used to treat eczema or allergic contact dermatitis type reactions. I f the rash is being caused by an allergic reaction, using the triamcinolone cream twice daily on the affected area will help. However, roaches traditionally causes nasal allergy symptoms or worsening of asthma and rarely contact reactions.

With multiple, effective other therapeutic options oral/injectable steroids should be reserved for severe reactions.
