Recommended dose: No, 500mg TID x 10 days is the recommended dose for susceptible infections.  Some clinicians only prescribe it BID or for only 7 days.  Please follow your clinician's recommendation and complete full course.

will keflex 250 help with acne? is this dose too low to make a difference?

Maybe.: Keflex might lessen your acne, but that's not what it is for. The best current antibiotics for acne are Doxycycline and minocycline, with a few others used less commonly - but antibiotics are not that effective all by themselves. Let your dermatologist design a comprehensive acne treatment for you, which will probably include an antibiotic and appropriate topical therapies.

i never took keflex before. i took amoxicilin before, i'm not allergic to it. is there anyway i can try to see if im allegric before i take full dose?

No: Most people do not become allergic to antibiotics yet it can develop at any time. Thus there is no way to tell ahead of time whether you may be allergic to an antibiotic or not.

i received my first dose of pfizer yesterday and i was put on keflex antibiotic today . i forgot to mention it to them . can i take it ? is there anything i shouldnt take ?

: The vaccines work through a different body system unaffected by antibiotics. I find there no reason for you to alter you normal lifestyle or medicine use after this vaccine or the second dose when you get it.

how do you treat a person who gets chronic uti's all the time? tests all normal. was on keflex  low dose for years and it helped, but not anymore.

Treat the cause: If you have not been investigated, you should be checked for stones, anatomic abnormalities etc. If all causes have been ruled out, you should consider a different antibiotic based on a culture result.

i have oral thrush. my dr. prescribed me one dose of fluconazole. i started taking keflex yesterday. should i continue to take the keflex?

What's it for? : You mentioned a thrush infection and treating that but why are you on the Keflex?  If this was prescribed by a physician for a bacterial infection, it would not be wise to stop it. Check with the prescribing doctor.

Up to his doctor: UTI in older men usually occurs with other urinary tract problems that increase susceptibility or make it difficult or impossible to eliminate all bacteria: prostate infection, kidney stone, partial blockage, etc. Best antibiotics and follow-up testing are complex decisions, impossible to judge without more info. If any doubt, your brother might benefit from infectious disease consultation.

It may not be. : Your regimen is not in line with current cdc recommendations, which is worrisome due to the alarming increase in drug-resistant gonorrhea. If you have already started treatment as detailed above, continue your antibiotic regimen as prescribed, but see your physician for evaluation. You should be tested 1 week after starting treatment, or earlier if your symptoms to not improve.

was on keflex 250mg for a week, doc upped dose to 500mg/3xday (for epidermoid cyst removal). can this drug cause body aches? hurts since starting meds

NO: This medication DOES NOT CAUSE BODY PAIN ( unless you are allergic to this type of medication) i.e.- hives, facial or lip swelling, itching or rash.

having cbc and liver panel drawn tomorrow. taking keflex and diflucan (fluconazole). will these affect test readings? should i not take morning dose prior to test?

Take your meds: You can continue taking you medications, skipping morning dose is not going to make much difference. Important is inform your pcp that you were taking these medication when labs were drawn, so he/she keeps that in mind and if need be, repeat labs.
