Trying too hard?: Depending upon what your doctor is looking for, he may during a digital rectal exam ask you to bear down like having a bowel movement (to check pelvic floor muscles), squeeze around his finger (to check anal tone), and/or lots of other maneuvers. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections and hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

: There is medicine that can be given if you think you have been exposed to HIV. Have you been tested? Perhaps you should go to a different doctor for another opinion. Without knowing what your exposure is, there is no way to know how serious the exposure is. That’s something your doctors need to know to figure out what the treatment should be. Communication...: Everyone has different desires from a relationship. Be 100% okay with yourself.  Co-dependency is relying on someone to make you be "okay" and ultimately isn't very appealing to a partner ("needy" can push someone away).  I suggest working on you, not worrying about him.  You may find that his attention increases if you no longer "need" him - and if it doesn't it matter because you will be happy.
