Any injury to the -: Thigh or joint area, can cause bleeding around and in the muscles, resulting in loss of motion of the nearby joint, initially due to the pain, then scar tissue formation, or even myositis ossificans, if treatment is not started early enough, with range of motion exercises, ultrasound, pain meds, ice/heat, pain meds. With early treatments the risk of m. Ossificans has greatly reduced nowadays.

Can be tricky: The diagnosis of ALS can be tricky using EMG criteria only. And yes, in the early stages of the disease the test may not even be that sensitive. However, and thankfully, ALS is a relatively rare and unusual disorder for anybody under the age of 50 or 55 to contract. Best evaluation is by a neurologist with experience in neuromuscular disorders and by using both clinical and electrical information.

Gait abnormality: The pain from the morton neuroma is probably making you walk funny.  This is putting stress on the tendons around the ankle joint and can cause new problems.  Make sure that your shoes are wide enough not to squeeze the neuroma, which is a swelling of the nerve between the bones of the foot..  A normal gait has to be part of any solution.

diagnosed w/systemic scleroderma. have shiny, tight skin, joint pain, gi issues, gerd, muscle weakness, numbness in both hands&feet. have costochondritis and it is very painful. is costochondritis a chronic condition? is it a result of scleroderma?

: The condition may be associated with chest wall muscle tightness and inflammation associated with  costochondritis . Discuss local treatment with your specialist. The use of medication is often effective in conjunction with local treatment. Physical therapy is also recommended. Watch for signs of shortness of breath, and a baseline chest image/PFTs should be considered.
