Schizophrenics: Chronic schizophrenics who have been clinically stabilized & are compliant with their ongoing treatment & have good social support system , do indeed form close relationships.

Paranoia: is excessive/unrealistic fears.  There are also reasonable cautions we need to take.  A mental health professional can help you sort out what is going on, what may be reasonable and what may be paranoia.  If paranoia, he/she will help you with that.  Peace and good health.  Good for you to deal w/this early in life and move on.

Counseling needed: I suggest CBT ( cognitive behavioral therapy ) sexual counseling and/or RET ( rational emotive therapy ) from a certified therapist. I am not sure what you mean by "bad sex"??- ?anxiety, dryness, inability to achieve orgasm. fears?
I also suggest seeing a board certified GYN regarding sexual issues.

Depends: Depends on how functional and how severe the case is and how the perception of reality is with mom.  How medically stable and how much support systems the child has.

Paranoia pervasive: You  distrust &amp; are ssupiciousness of others. You interpret others motives as malevolent beginning in early adulthood.  4 of folllowing  present: you suspect that others are exploiting, harming or deceiving you.  You do not trust loyalty or trustworthiness of friends /associates.  Persistenltly bear grudges.  Recurrent suspicion without justification of fidelity of others, sexual partner/spouse.

Depends: If the paranoia is the result of depression then an antidepressant. If it is the result of a psychosis then antipsychotic medications.  Psychotherapy in combination with medication appears to be the best treatment.

Accepted Answer

Depends on the cause: Paranoia is a symptom which, like most symptoms, can have multiple causes, so treatment depends on identifying the cause. Severe paranoia can be caused by schizophrenia but paranoia can also be caused by bipolar disorder, anxiety, personality disorders, alzheimer's disease, hyperthyroidism, infections & reactions to a wide variety of both prescription and non-prescription drugs. No: These are completely different realms.  Broadly, asperger's is a pervasive developmental  syndrome -- not a psychosis at all.  Paranoia can be one symptom in a wide variety of other disorders, including major psychoses, some mood disorders, delusional disorders, drug intoxication & withdrawal, and some personality disorders.

Don't know.: If you have genital or oral blister like lesions - get them checked medically to know.

does venlafaxine cause paranoia?

Accepted Answer

Possibly.: In patients with depression and psychosis, serotonergic-noradrenergic meds like venlafaxine could cause irritability, agitation, and possibly paranoia. These patients should be treated with antipsychotics/mood stabillizers first before being prescribed anti-depressants like venlafaxine.
