Possibly.: In patients with depression and psychosis, serotonergic-noradrenergic meds like venlafaxine could cause irritability, agitation, and possibly paranoia. These patients should be treated with antipsychotics/mood stabillizers first before being prescribed anti-depressants like venlafaxine.
