Gland, cyst, node: Most common palpable nodules in relationship to the jaw would include salivary glands, cysts of the salivary glands and lymph nodes.  Lymph nodes are usually tender with acute enlargment and are associated with an infection or ulceration in the mouth.  Salivary glands can have acute infection and enlargement due to saliva back up associated with salivary stones or bacterial infections.

painless firm lump directly below ear, directly behind left jaw bone, right in that crease. sometimes when opening mouth or lifting head up it'll move. no other symptoms other than random pains inside ear, but was cleared of ear infection months ago?

Blocked gland?: A sebaceous cyst is a collection of oily fluid that occurs when an oil gland is blocked.  Some folks are more prone to them than other and they often appear on the neck, shoulders, and back.  Try to avoid skin products that are oily.  I would also stay away from transfats and bad oils, which is good for overall health. Doc can diagnose and if that's the case, remove it.  Peace and good health.

TMJ inflammation: We have a joint between the lower jaw and the skull and this could be the source of pain stop chewing gum if you do to rest your jaw.

Possible crossbite: If you dont have a tumor, your jaw relationship might tend to crossbite on one side.

Neck pain: The area you feel the pulse is I the neck, so I assume the pain is in the neck, the structures in that area are blood vessels, muscle, lymph glands and nerves.
Pain could be from any one of this. Pain from the neck joints/spines need to be considered also

if you press your lower jaw bone (under your lower jaw bone you press up) hard enough to hurt, does it mean you broke the bone? please be specific.

Not necessarily: It usually takes a very significant blow to break the mandible (jaw bone).  Tenderness on that bone when you push on it does not prove you broke it.  Signs of a broken mandible include a "mis-fitting" of the teeth after the trauma which causes the fracture.

: Sm all bilateral asymmetry is perfectly normal. Absolute mirror image symmetry is an abnormal outlier. Please seek evaluation by an Oral Surgeon or an Oral Pathologist.

Lymph Gland?: It may be an enlarged lymph gland.Other possibilities are a cyst or an abscess
please get it checked by your doctor to find what it is and if it needs any treatment.
