why do i get temporary yellow skin? not yellow in the eyes but the whole body. i have no anemia, but a pheochromocytoma, what can it be? pheo related?

Pheochromocytoma: You need to get this pheo treated. The bursts of adrenaline can be fatal. The bursts of adrenaline can make your skin pale, which may be perceived as yellow, depending on your natural color.  There are characteristic skin tingling sensations, or itching with pheo.  Other hormones can be abnormal too (pth, calcitonin) in certain varieties of pheo.  This condition is rare, so see your doctor.

at 2 weeks my daughter was requested to do a jaundice test it was a bit high but was sent home and told to come back for another test a week later. her reading went down but 3 weeks later her eyes are still yellow. can't get hold of her pediatrician.

Carotonemia: It may be from something as simple as eating too many carrots or foods containing high levels of beta carotene. But other causes should be looked into if this is not what your diet consists, such as diabetes, liver and gall bladder disease. Your primary care doctor can assist you here.

?yellow eyes? : Most of this is related to the introduction of yellow veggies into a kids diet. The vitamin A in the food attaches to the fat under the skin, making it appear yellow. If the white of the eyes is yellow, the kid has a liver problem.There is no fat in the white of the eye.

It could be. : "yellow eyes" comes from increased levels of bilirubin in the blood. It can subsequently causes staining in the conjunctiva and skin.  Bilirubin comes from breakdown of red blood cells in the spleen which are removed via the liver.  Since exposure to pyridine can cause liver damage, if there is enough exposure, it may be possible that bilirubin levels may increase.

Obstructive jaundice: Itching happens in the obstructive jaundice . The other type called hemolytic jaundice ,happening from excess breakdown of red blood cells don't cause itching. When the level of bilirubin exceeds 2-3 mg , you can start seeing the jaundice .The jaundice you see in the sclera is not related to itching ,but on how much bilirubin- the jaundice pigment is in the blood .

Can be subtle: It can be subtle.  Darker-skinned people can have a natural yellowish-tinge to the sclera ("whites") of their eyes which may be normal, but if there is a change from a persons usual skin tone or eye color and it becomes more yellow, that would be a reason to seek medical evaluation.
