See your doc: There is an acute change with your condition and it should be evaluated.  Get your thyroid checked.  Check your blood sugar and see what it's doing.  If it's unchanged, then there is something else going on.  Janumet (sitagliptin and metformin) should not cause constipation or weight gain.

None exists: There is no safest medications.  All has side effects.  Severity depends on the individual patient's characteristics.  In general, you want to use the least amount of drug necessary to control your disorder.  Janumet XR in general is well tolerated.

Two meds: Janumet is a combination of metformin and januvia (sitagliptin). Since it is a combination of 2 medications, it works more effectively than either medication alone. Januvia (sitagliptin) helps the pancreas produce Insulin more appropriately during meals, causing blood sugars to rise less afterwards.  Metformin works to decrease Insulin resistance, and make your own Insulin work better.

Janumet (sitagliptin and metformin) is : Metformin plus what is called a dpp-4 inhibitor, which stimulates Insulin release, blocks hormones that raise your sugar and makes the combo w/metformin more potent at lowering your blood sugar.

Yes: Hi. Metformin and sitagliptin work via different mechanisms, and together are synergistic. So yes, more effective than one drug alone. Note even the combination may not be adequate for achieving tight control. Your doctor will follow your A1c response, and if it's in the mid-low 6's, you're good to go. A nice thing is Janumet (sitagliptin and metformin) by itself cannot cause hypoglycemia. Good luck!

No. Need Insulin  : Type 1 diabetes is a complete lack of Insulin thus Insulin must be given for survival. Symlin (pramlintide) is another injection that can be used with Insulin to treat type 1 diabetes. Amaryl+janumet and other oral medications are  indicated for type 2 diabetes(insulin resistance). Please contact your physician for evaluation/clarification on your diagnosis/ treatment. Insulin/ symlin (pramlintide) also used in type 2 care.

: What happens to your blood sugars if you don't take any Insulin?
May be you don't need Insulin. Stop Insulin and then restart with very low dose if blood sugars too high.

: What is the EXACT time you take ryzodeg and what is the time you check your sugar? In general, hypoglycemia is more dangerous than hyperglycemia when we treat diabetes with combined medications. I am surprised that a change of just 2 units of ryzodeg can make that much difference. The timing of Janumet can be contributory.

Janumet (sitagliptin and metformin) or Zitamet: Both are OK.
Not Saltbut as far as I could tell on my computer.
