self suffering from diabetics, last march in 2017 my h1bac is 9.9 and last week is 7.7 i. i am under medication of janumet 50/500 .i used to monitor my blood sugar values on daily basis,now days it is fluctuating  from 200-90, not sure y this happens?

Lack of insulin: One medication is not sufficient to control your blood sugar, it is imperative that you consult an endocrinologist for better management of your diabetes, It may require you to inject yourself with insulin.

: Janumet is not known to be causing pseudopheochromocytoma, otherwise poorly understood condition. An idiosyncratic reaction cannot be ruled out either, your current prescriber remains your best resource going forward.

None exists: There is no safest medications.  All has side effects.  Severity depends on the individual patient's characteristics.  In general, you want to use the least amount of drug necessary to control your disorder.  Janumet XR in general is well tolerated.

Meds: Jalra-Met Tablet contains Metformin Hydrochloride and Vildagliptin as active ingredients.  Janumet contains a combination of metformin and sitagliptin. The gliptins prolong activity of intestinal incretin hormones.

: New does not mean better, especially this drug alone is not strong enough for you who has been taking two oral hypoglycemic agents (januvia &amp; metformin) plus short and long acting insulin.

Both: Both are safe if used properly but each have different side effects.if only on 500mg metformin why not just increase the metformin if only taking 500 a day.May want to ask him that.The answer may come down on the question of the two of cost.The diamacron is a sulfa drug and has a higher chance of hypoglycemia than the janumet but janumet cost more

: Are you taking any other diabetic medications? Janumet on its own doesn't usually cause hypoglycemia. Since we don't know your complete clinical history your physician would be best to answer your question &amp; give you instructions. If you're unable to reach him/ her or a covering physician tonight, I recommend omitting tonight's janumet until you reach a physician in the practice  in the morning
