i was just tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, yeast, & bv - all negative. i still have an itchy vagina (only symptom). what can this be from?

Something else!: When you have a condition and a doc says all tests are normal it means really that I haven't thought hard enough about your condition. Examine your soap: You need to check and make sure that your underwear is fully rinsed if machine washed as the material can retain dried soap powder or liquid which will reactivate when confronted by a moist vulva. Secondly, make sure that you use only Dove, Ivory or Caress soaps on the vulva as other soaps are too harsh and can cause itching.

See an OB/GYN: There are many possible explanations for this, but in order to answer you intelligently one would have to examine you and perhaps do some lab tests.  Go get this worked out and hope you'll be better soon.

was treated for bacterial vaginosis with antibiotics, since then had issues with itchy vagina but not isn't thrush as had swabs. sex is sometimes painful not always.had swabs and all clear. any help?

: Yeast infection (thrush) is commonly triggered by antibiotics, and can be difficult to diagnose. The value of a "swab" depends on exactly what test was done on the swab specimen. Ask your doctor about a possible trial of an anti-yeast medication, such as single dose oral fluconazole, or a vaginal "azole" product. It seems worth a try and not likely to be harmful in any way. Allergy?: Has anyone considered allergy to candida albicans? You don't have to have an "infection" from it to have symptoms. I vaguely remember about it. Maybe someone else will comment further, but look it up and talk to your doc about it.

Vaginal itching: The main infection causing vaginal itching is yeast, sometimes hard to diagnose. Some cold viruses can infect genitals by oral sex; in men, adenovirus can cause simultaneous cold or conjunctivitis (pink eye) and urethral infection. No studies in women but logically it could happen, especially if your cold is from a sex partner. If so, it wil clear up on its own. Or try an OTC yeast treatment.
