i have extremely itchy ears, that spread to neck & face. i have a swollen gland/lump beside the jaw bone (right under my earlobe). what can this be?

Possible allergy: If you wear earrings and have this rash you may be allergic to the nickel in the earrings. See a dermatologist or your general doctor who can prescribe a cortisone cream and stop wearing the earrings till the rash has gone away. You may want to go have patch testing done at a dermatologist office to see if you are allergic to nickel. There are earrings made of titanium is rare to be allergic to.

itchy scalp (esp near ear and neck), dandruff if i dont take head bath every alternate day, and small itchy bumps on scalp near ear and neck under the hair which sometimes turn into pimple and burst open. what could be the reason.

Scalp Dermatitis: You may have seborrheic dermatitis, aggravated by applying grease, pomades, or other occlusive agents.  Using a shampoo that has tar for five minutes at least every five days should control it.  If the condition persists, consult with a dermatologist.  Seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic condition.

ALLERGIC RHINITIS : YES: PROGESTERONE  IS THE HORMONE OF PREGNANCY. One of its many secondary side effects is flaring allergies. Swelling of nasal mucosa/itchy eyes /post nasal drip. You can do nasal irrigation with Neil Med system. Zaditor (ketotifen) Eye Drops and CLARITIN are all effective.

Pruritis: You may be experiencing an allergic reaction. You may try OTC anti-histamine such as Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) Claritin or Zyrtec to see if you can achieve relief.If not, see your doctor.

Different allergens: Peanut and tree nut allergens are different.  I would recommend your son be evaluated with specific allergy testing.

Rattling sound: The most common cause would be a viral URI - which usually gets better on its own.   But we take special precaution with people who smoke, have diabetes, underlying lung problems (asthma, copd).  Or if there's any shortness of breath or extended fever.

i am a 25 year old female that is yet to be allergic to something. last two days i have had a red, sore throat and incredibly itchy ears.

Viral: The red sore throat is likely from a viral infection which however does not usually cause itchy ears.  Perhaps you have a fungal infection in the external ear canals often from getting water into the ears.  If so, you will need to consult your doctor to get you some antifungal ear drops (+/-) cortisone.   I don't believe these two conditions are  more coincidental than connected however.

i've had a dry cold for a few weeks now saw throat itchy ears inside no infection but i keep developing coldsores on my lips what would this be?

Canker or cold sores: Cold sores are caused by HSV (virus) and occur on the outsides of the lips.

Canker sores are on the inside and are more due to stress and not caused by a virus.

Treatment depends on which you are dealing with.
