Blood tests: There are a few diseases that leap out from blood tests.  Most of the time, however, blood tests don't tell the doctor much on their own.  These results fall into the second group, not very specific.  Good health to you and your child.

Get checked: if you have already tried Benadryl (diphenhydramine) your doctor can prescribe stronger medicines depending on what you have.  Good luck and avoid the new shirt as you may have developed an allergy to it.

Hard to tell...: It should prompt a workup by your doctor after an exam and possibly after treatment (prescription).  There are many causes of non-rash itch, (pruritis) and many of them are systemic.  Time to see your doctor...

Itch without Rash: may be do to a LARGE # medical conditions  and you need to consult with a Medical Professional for some testing...the very first thing to do is ask yourself if you have been taking anything or eating anything "unusual" Have you used a new DETERGENT to wash your clothes.
Any PETS in the house....
In the meantime an OTC anti-histamine may be useful BENADRYL (Diphenhydramine) may help.

Itching without rash: Certainly swelling can cause a sensation of itching. The fact that you are experiencing  a hot prodding sensation with a cough might indicate a possible hernia. Please seek consultation with your doctor

Not likely: But anything is possible.  If you think that you may have been exposed to HIV please go and get tested for this and other stds.  It is a manageable condition if diagnosed and treated early and will limit your capacity to expose others.  Good luck and have a great holiday.

Could be allergy: Eczema has been called "the itch that rashes".  People sometimes have an itch, then when they scratch it it becomes a rash and starts a vicious cycle.  Try taking some Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and see if that helps.  Sometimes a nutritional deficiency can cause itching.  If you don't get better, better get checked.

The common ones are renal / liver failure, thyroid diseases, blood cell / solid organ tumors, hiv, parasites, hepatitis c infections, drug side effects, vitamin deficiencies, neuropathy, psychogenic, senile pruritis... The list is long as well as the treatment. Please consult with your local doctor to better evaluate & treat.

Dry skin: Dry skin would be the most likely cause.  Stretching of the skin can also cause itching without a rash.  Other causes are rare.

Dry skin: In the winter months, the first thing I consider would be dry skin. Try using unscented soap and apply a skin moisturizer all over within 3 minutes after bathing to see it this helps . It may take a few days for the skin to calm down. If problem persists, then need to consult a dermatologist or allergist.
