Doubt any thing: There is a lining in your brain called the dura.  This were most sensation comes from on the brain.  I.E.  The brain itself has no sensation.  On some, probably migraine sufferers moreso, this lining can be sensitive and you may notice weird sensations like this when you turn your head.

Depends: It depends on what you are describing as a pinging sound. Usual sounds in the head could be an indication of what is described as tinnitus. Tinnitus can be benign, but can also indicate blood flow across a high pressure vascular bed, such as seen in a fistula or abnormal blood vessels in the brain. It these symptoms continue, it may be wise to see a doctor for further evaluation.

Tension Headache: The most common type of headache is the tension headache, where the sufferer experiences a tight band around the head, almost as if the head were caught in a "vise-grip." the pain and tightness is usually the most intense at the base of the skull and tends to start in the neck and shoulder muscles. The headache can last only one day but may last up to a week or more.

Tension : The hair is being pulled back by the hairstyle causing low grade constant tension. This can lead to pain from the hair being pulled or from the muscles of the scalp spasming in response to the irritation.

Without : Without examining you, it's hard to tell what might be going on.  Muscle spasm maybe?  This isn't a complaint that is characteristic of any specific disease process.  If you are having continued problems with the forehead sensation or with your sinuses, you should see a board certified otolaryngologist in your area for an examination.  They may better be able to guide you as to what it may be and how to treat it.

See a PMR or ortho: Nerves from the neck travel to the arms, and stretching or pinching these nerves often produce these symptoms. Muscle spasm can arise from malposition of cervical vertebra, rapid stretch, or trauma, causing further symptoms. Pillows make a huge difference in providing support for the head over neck.  EMG studies can tell if a pinch is present.
