Not necessarily: It depends on how your total cholesterol is made up.  
The HDL portion is considered more protective, and the LDL portion is considered more atherogenic (more likely to cause cholesterol buildup in the arteries).
If your total has a high HDL and a low ldl, the overall general pattern is considered more healthful than a high LDL and low HDL pattern.

Could be better: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, it would better if both cholesterol and triglycerides were lower. If you are overweight, try to lose weight, not easy. 
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Hi ldl. Low hdl: Your LDL should ideally be lower, but falls in range for initial dietary change and exercise therapy. Regular exercise can also help hdl, but may take several months to show a benefit. If you smoke, this needs to be stopped- suppresses HDL and damages he inner wall of your blood vessels, predisposing to depositing cholesterol in arteries.

If you feel you need a "natural" remedy, there's a red rice yeast that contains lovastatin. I trust you're eating sensibly and exercising and I'm glad to see you're managing your hyupertension.
