No reason not to: I'm not sure what you mean by "thickening". I assume your doc said the lining of your uterus (endometrium) is thicker than expected for 35. That causes excess vaginal bleeding & over time increases risk of uterine cancer. Since the most common cause of endometrial thickening is excess body weight, exercise can decrease the problem. Please do any follow up testing your md advises .. & exercise away.

Potential problem: There are no guidelines for evaluation or treatment in this situation.  In cases of post menopausal bleeding, a uterine lining thickness >4 mm requires a biopsy.  We have no guidelines on what if anything is necessary in cases of no symptoms when the lining is found to be thickened.  If you have risk factors for endometrial cancer (eg, obesity) you probably should have a biopsy.  Ask your doctor.

Maybe: If you are having regular periods with no breakthrough bleeding, it is not likely to be a problem.  But if you do not have regular monthly menses, the thickening could be an indication of endometrial hyperplasia, which can progress to endometrial cancer.

No: I presume you are referring to thickening of the endometrium. That has nothing to do with "12 days after intercourse". It is related to hormonal changes in your body dependant on the phase of your menstrual cycle. Normally during the initial phase of your cycle, the endometrium will thicken in preparation for the gestional sac.

Lining of uterus: When the lining of your uterus is thick it means that either you are in the last phase of your menstrual cycle or also it can be due to pregnancy. However, medical conditions of the uterus can also resemble a thick endometrium, like endometrial hyperplasia (pre -malginancy) endometrial polyps, or uterine fibroids.

thickened endometrium (the lining of the uterus) can reflect continued estrogen production without regular ovulation.  Unless there is pronounced discomfort or bleeding disturbing your "quality of life", ask your gyn provider about low dose oral bcp's,not surgery.

Depends: Some  women  taking  hormonal replacement  may  have  a  thickened  lining. Women  who  are diabetic, obese,  may  also  have  thickening.  Polyps  may  appear  as  a thickened  lining  as  can certain cancers.  If the   lining  is  thick  a simple d&c, hysteroscopy (looking  inside with a scope)   will  provide  rapid  answers.
