No : You can lengthen your bones in your leg, but it is not a surgery that one should undertake unless prepared for the length of time, cost and risk of complications.

WHY??: Why would anyone wish to have major surgery of this type (if it could even be done) because of a cosmetic issue? It would be much healthier to teach the child to be happy with herself, and appreciate her own body. Help her learn to love herself, just as she is, instead of focusing on any "imperfections".

i know you can get surgery to lengthen the leg bones but will there ever be surgery that can lengthen the torso as well? how long til it exists?

No: There will never be a surgery to lengthen a normal torso, but we know the rule is, "Never say never."  It's unlikely that there will be a procedure to make a normal person's torso longer, but for older people with damaged intervertebral discs or with collapsing vertebrae, we hope for better and better technology to fix those problems and prevent those patient's heights from decreasing.

my leg inseam is 68-69cm long and my total height is 153cm. does this mean i have a long torso/upper body? if i lengthen legs12cm will it look normal?

Height: Right now, your legs are growing at 45% level of your entire height. With 12 cm added with growth, you will have a lower height that matches the upper torso height level. This is fine and within normal limits!

ive been getting for almost two years now, random red bumps on all different parts of my body. the bump can appear on my leg, torso, arm, etc. it is not painful or itchy, it is also not raised or hard. i get one every few weeks. it heals on its own?

Dermatologist: Skin bumps are by definition raised so I'm puzzled by your description. I think a physician or dermatologist will have to inspect a lesion in order to advise you.

: These are issues to ask the surgical team involved with the procedure. They will have the information on average length of stay, frequency of complications, need for physical therapy or other added activities, etc. What if any increase in your height may be possible would depend on your individual case measurements.

: In theory, it may aid some height.  Taking a curved line to a straight line makes it increase in height.  An opening wedge may add more than a closing wedge, but the overall height increase may be minimal.

Bow legs &amp; height: As you grow, yes, bow legs can cause you challenges with height.  When you approach the age where your growth plates close and fuse, you would have reached your adult height, of which timing varies.  Reasons for surgery should include persistent pain from walking or severe limitations because of the bow legs.  Surgery for height, may not be beneficial and expose you to unnecessary surgical risks.
