Insects in the nose.: Yes and so can some amoeba. But insects would be very unlikely. If you are watching TV where ants go into the brain the only way this can happen would be for you to buried to you neck and have honey poured over your head next to an ant hill. or you get attacked by army ants.

Highly improbable: It is possible to have brain (encephalocele) or the intracranial membranes (meningocele) or a combination of the two prolapse from the cranial cavity into the nose and sinuses.Most of these are after sinus surgery or trauma, not from nose blowing.If there is a defect between the nose and cranial cavity nose blowing can force air into the cranium (pneumocephalus).Worry if water drips from one nostr.

No: Not completely impossible but very very unlikely. If you had a brain eating organism you would now be unconscious, in the ICU of a hospital and not on a chat line

NO: The Nasopharynx is the back of your nose and throat, and has no connection with the nerves in your brain. The swab goes to the uppermost region of this area, but does not go past that into your brain as there is a fairly tough membrane that prevents anything from passing through.

No: Sniffing the top of a dry erase marker for a few seconds just to see what it smells like... does not cause any damage. However, one shouldn't make a habit of it.
