It is a carb and may trigger hunger once eaten and an unwanted insulin surge so that anything you eat on will be quickly stored as fat.

Tricky question: There are many approaches to losing weight. The best are those which bring the body's natural systems into alignment to burn fat and build muscle. Rice can work either way, to gain or to lose. In an intermittent fasting plan, fasting through the day and then eating whole grain white rice or yams for the evening meal is said to modulate the hormone leptin, helping the person feel less hungry.

Avoid dairy products: For a few days avoid dairy products, as severe diarrhea leaves you temporarily lactose intolerant. Try rice soups and bland foods at first (with lemon and salt to avoid dehydration). Then gradually reintroduce dairy products to your diet starting with greek yogurt - to restore your bowel flora and avoid chronic intestinal problems.

Brown rice: Brown rice has more fiber and vitamins.  It also takes longer to cook.  There are legions of people who will swear by it, and even more legions who eat white rice without thinking twice, every day.

It probably is a little better, but you may eat white rice without damage to your children.

Some children have a strong preference.  Don't fight this battle.

Steam burn: Most physicians use silvadene, (silver sulfadiazine) a prescription antibiotic cream, for second and third degree burns. For first degree burns, you are fine to use moisturizers containing aloe. For all burns, keep area clean and monitor for any signs of infection. If burns are extensive or you feel ill overall because of the burn, you must see a⁰ doctor.
