Congratulations!!!: You are doing great! Unfortunately,  when the person stops taking the drugs, the body needs time to recover. This recovery is a long, unpleasant and difficult road. Morphine withdrawal can be dangerous, and without proper supervision, monitoring, and support can lead to systemic problems (e.g. stroke).  It may take months for the patient to feel better and without symptoms.
