i had my throat checked by nasendoscopy, and ent dr said in report i have  intra cardy pachydermia? but didn't explain, please may i know what i means?

Check spelling: While I am not an ent, as a surgeon i could break down the words. The first word intra cardy doesn't exist so please check the spelling and write down the correct spelling if possible. The second word pachydermia means very thick skin. Pachy is from elephant and dermis is skin. This is not meant to be derogatory, it is simply a description of thickened layer of skin. Call your ENT to confirm!

Reflux: of acid from your stomach up into your throat can result in chronic (prolonged) throat pain.  Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) can be worse when the stomach is empty.  A medical evaluation, including testing for H.pylori (a bacteria which is a common cause of GERD) is indicated.  GERD can be treated, and H.pylori can be cured. Without treatment, this can lead to serious problems.

are cobblestones in the  throat a serious issue. i saw them and i don't know how long thy have been there .

No : These are small islands of tonsil tissue on the back wall of the throat and become more prominent from post nasal discharge, allergy, recurrent throat infections.

Basics: These are often small sores triggered by a local injury or illness. If you can drink fluids okay &amp; eat, this would likely self heal over time. If it persists or really spooks you you can see an ENT who may be able to assess this in the office.

ive had a cough since jan when i had covid. the issue is i dont cough when i dont think about it or during the night. its only when i have nothing to do. i find myself also clearing my throat with it. non productive. could it be serious/habitual?

: It could be habit or a degree of health anxiety such as thinking about it. I suspect any tracheal inflammation/irritation during the covid infection has resolved. If you still have concerns, consult a pulmonologist.

Time to see MD: You don't mention whether you have fever or other symptoms. Assuming your throat does not show any pus on your tonsils, you may just have a dry throat because of nasal congestion      or breathing through mouth at night. Red eyes can be anything from insufficient sleep, spending too much time on computers through allergy to more serious things. After several months, go see a physician!

Throat Pain: For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes –  see physician ; get a strep throat test/ culture. If you have strep throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future complications. Consider tylenol (acetaminophen) or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle with aloe vera juice twice a day.  Gargle several times a day.

Complications: Untreated strep can be followed by antibodies that attack your heart/kidney or brain. Rheumatic fever describes the systemic onset of this reaction where the patient is fairly ill & the heart & heart valves are inflamed. If the kidneys are attacked they can weaken & blood pressure goes up.If the brain is attacked you can develop a movement problem.Sometimes the tonsils just abscess & u risk dying.
