: Any report of HIV not being detectable for a year is blatantly mistaken. It doesn't happen, and there has never been a scientifically reliable report of the antigen-antibody (AgAb, "combo") tests taking longer than 45 days to become positive -- except sometimes in people who took anti-HIV drugs as post-exposure prophylaxis that didn't work. Your negative tests are 100% proof you do not have HIV.

What type of test?: If the test was for HIV nucleic acid and it was negative, it is good enough. If it was test for HIV antibody it is nearly good enough but you should repeat it in about three months.

Likely negative: If both the Combo assay and the RNA quantitative tests were reported negative, it is unlikely they would convert to positive results after they have been reported to you. If you engage in risky behavior- unprotected sex with a partner with either an unknown HIV status or positive HIV status then you may want to consider getting tested again depending on length of time from exposure to testing.

: Based on the current guidelines, it is recommended to retest for HIV at 90 days post-exposure for conclusive results. While the HIV 1/2 AB P24 test can detect antibodies and p24 antigen as early as 4 weeks after exposure, it is not considered conclusive until 90 days have passed.

Usually, a doctor has to interpret all the lines of clinical and lab evidence when assessing someone's status. It is good.: After exposure to hiv, most people who become infected will have a positive HIV RNA test by 32 days.  The 2d generation antibody test is also usually positive by then, but may take a little longer.  
I would be much less worried, but it is always a good idea to repeat the antibody test at 90 days to be sure.

Depends on timing: The HIV blood tests are among the most accurate diagnostic tests ever developed, for any medical condition. If your last test was done at least a a few weeks after your last possible exposure, you can be sure you were not infected and don't have it
