i used to take crestor (rosuvastatin) but was one of the few who had muscle pain as a side effect , my question is will all statin meds have side effect?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily.: Some r combinations of meds, some r only 1 statin. Trial ; error. If u switch, report immediately any such symptoms. Also don't start until the aching clears.

Side effects: Contact dermatitis, rash, dry skin, exfoliation, pruritus and pain at site of application.  Leg cramps not a typical side effect of topical diclofenac.

Statins: Yes. This is the most common problem with the statin drugs.

Tinnitus: Tinnitus is noise or ringing in the ears. There is no drug for cure. Tinnitus is not a disease, but a condition that can result from many underlying causes.

Kenalog: Single injection no. Many injections yes. Discuss with your team.

Yes: Its less likely but cortisone type drugs can throw off the balance required for normal menstrual cycles.

Vitamin D3: Vitamin d3 is usually prescribed along with calcium supplements. You may be having muscular pain due to calcium deficiency, as vitamin d3 alone will cause calcium absorption from bones. Talk to your doctor and discuss the treatment options.

i take atorvastatin ~ 3 mnths, have severe muscle pain in upper back, unexplained, chest ct clear, culd ths be a side effect?

Yes: Tendinopathy up to tendon ruptures, muscle pain - all are known side effects of the "statins". Consult with the dr who prescribed you the medication about the dosing and possible changes.

taking fludrocortisone for a year (pots) and synthroid (thyroxine) for 4 (hashimoto) could any of these medicines could cause muscle pain n twitching side effect?

Perhaps: Possibly more common would be secondary electrolyte changes due to the mechanism of fluid retention involved with the fludrocortisone.  Have these been checked recently.  Also, with POTS, a mast cell activation syndrome could be considered.

i am experiencing  aching muscles. and pain in my left shoulder is this a side affect from taking vitamin d2?

Probably not: There are several joints and intervertebral discs in the neck.  These can wear out over time leading to pain.  Degeneration of the joints or discs can cause neck pain, headaches, and shoulder pain.  You can also get neck pain from a muscle strain.  In some cases neck and shoulder pain could be related to your heart so be sure to see you physician.
