You : You can absolutely enjoy sex after menopause. First, make sure you're comfortable with your own body, then take that new knowledge and understanding and bring it into your relationship. Lower levels of estrogen after menopause can make the vaginal mucosa dry and thin, sometimes making sex uncomfortable. Lubrication is key. Experiment with different lubricants, and make sure you're using plenty. Talk to your doctor about this issue. There are certain medications that may be of help to you.

Yes, lubrication: Women who are post menopausal have a decrease in their estrogen levels which leads to vaginal dryness.  You can see your gynecologist or a urologist and obtain a prescription for estrogen cream or the easiest solution is to use a water-soluble jelly such as k-y jelly.  One of these two options will solve 95% of most women's problems.

Neurological?: Strong fragrances and scents are known triggers for nausea and headaches. It is plausible that they are triggering neurological events manifested as pain. Avoid these triggers and try supplementing the body with an anti-inflammatory diet rich in natural antioxidants.

i am 54 years old with a painful ovarian cyst for 4 years now.  ultrasounds show it is simple. does it need to be removed? i am not menopausal yet.

Maybe: You do not mention how large or small it is. A large simple cyst can be painful just as a small one. If it does not respond to treatment and it is still painful, there may not be that many options left other than take it out.

Pre-menopause: Sounds like the early stages of heading towards menopause.   I tell my patients that irregularity tends to be the regular thing for most people at this stage of their lives.    However, that doesn't mean that there is nothing you can do to make the transition more gentle.    Talk to your doctor about options.

my menstrual cycle changed from 4 to 3 weeks with heavier and more painful than normal flow and big clots(2cm+-) around the 2nd or 3rd day. i'm 47 years old and not sure if this is normal menopause symptoms or should i be concerned?

Not normal: Increased menstrual interval frequency and heavy bleeding with clots are never normal. There is a problem that needs a GYN MD to sort out when you make an appointment soon.

Depends on cycles: You may want to check in with an obgyn and be examined. What have your cycles been like previously? Do you have any risk factors for cancer like obesity? Are you using any contraception? Regular pap smears?

Estrogen Cream: Vaginal estrogen cream can be very helpful to treat atrophic vaginitis. This is safe and very often effective.

i am going through the menopause and getting hot flushes day and night. i now have a rash on my chest. could it be a sweat rash? not itchy or painful.

Rash: A rash is best evaluated and treated when a physician can actually see it. Sounds like the rash is a separate entity from the menopause.
