Rattlesnakes: Although I love to recommend natural products whenever likely to be helpful or appropriate, I must also say: just because something is natural does not necessarily make it healthy. 
Tobacco is just as naturally-sourced as marijuana, yet its dangers are finally now widely known. 
Poison ivy is natural. So are rattlesnakes. 
Marijuana has addiction potential and can harm vulnerable individuals.

Marijuana can cause bronchitis, immune problems and low testosterone in men, and medical marijuana may help nausea/vomiting, glaucoma, pain, improve weight gain in cancer/hiv.

It is bad!: Marijuana is bad with or without levothyroxine. Weed will mess with your brain and rot your teeth.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Marijuana an herb: Not much. It is less dangerous than all other illegal drugs, less dangerous than alcohol, and less dangerous than tylenol (acetaminophen) and aspirin. Now, that said, it can be addictive. And for those with the disease of addiction it can bring unwelcome despair. There has to also be some damage in the trachea and lungs from smoke. But, this damage is still undefined.

It's not: It is not bad. It is not a gateway drug.  It is all political. There has been no medical study ever to show it causes harm or death.  However, some of the sources of marijuana contain impurities that may cause irritation when smoked or may be contaminated with other drugs.  The reason it is illegal is completely political.  In fact, it was widely grown in colonial america.
