is it unusual for my testes to be very different in size and shape?

Accepted Answer

No: It is very common and normal for testicles to be slightly different in size.  This does not increase chances of malignancy in the future providing the testes are anatomically normal (i.e. No masses, lumps, nodules, etc.).

Usually OK: That is a common physical finding and usually has no effect on fertility.  If you want to know for sure, then get a sperm count through your doctor.

Testicles: Nope. One of your testes is dominant and produces enough of the testosterone you need. One is not dominant and only there for a back up if there is an injury to the dominant one.

left ovary - 9ml

With orchidometer: 2 kinds of orchidometer, one is like beads of different sizes/volumes, the other has oval cut-outs of different sizes corresponding to different volumes. Vert accurate measurements can be made by scrotal ultrasound. A tape measure is the least accurate, but can be used.

Usually not. : If you notice a decrease in size of both testicles, this can be a sign of testicular atrophy. This condition is usually caused by taking medications that affect hormones, such as Anabolic steroids other causes of decreased size are torsion or infection, but this is usually on one side. If you notice a change in the size or character of either testicle, see a urologist for evaluation.

Lumps: need to be diagnosed by your doctor.  Please see her or him.  It could be something minor such as a cyst or something more serious.  Either way, you need to know.  Peace and good health.

Low T: As men age their testosterone production diminishes but they are still healthy.   Low testosterone can cause fatigue and low libido.  Size of testes generally doesn't matter -    serum testosterone can easily be checked with blood work.  The treatment if low is testosterone replacement usually a topical gel.

Delayed puberty?: If you're over 17, and have minimal pubic hair, small penis and testes, you may have an endocrine disorder that is treatable.
