Nothing: Having a previous c-section and tubal ligation should not increase your risk of problems in using a tampon in the future, as long as you have recovered from the initial surgery.

Depends how the tuba: Tubal was done, douching not recommended, you can use tampons usually with your next period , if your periods are heavy, then on my patients after I have done an in office tubal on them going through the cervix into the uterus ( no cutting) takes 5 minutes, they can have an in office endometrial ablation so you will not have any more periods or very light ones so no more tampons!

Shorter period: Any change in your period can be because you are pregnant so you should always do a pregnancy test.  If the test is negative, this may only be temporary.  It problem continues forr 3 months or more, see your doctor. Over the average of 40 years of menstruation, you are bound to have a "wierd" cycle here ; there.  Tubal ligation will not change your period.

i had a tubal done in 2018. i have had issues with my periods in the past but this month has been extremely wierd. i have been bleeding for 10 days but not heavy eough to wear a pad or tampon. it is only there when i wipe. sometimes pink sometimesred?

: Please consult with your Gyn. The original studies of hormonal therapy were done for menstrual irregularities, The birth control was a side effect that eventually became its main use. They can likely sort out the bleeding issue &amp; make sure it is not a worrisome process, then get you back on track.

i had a tubal with clamps done in 2013 after the delivery of my 4th child. i have had a lot of pain and excessive bleeding with it. enough bleeding to go thru multiple boxes of tampons within a matter of days. over the last month ive been sick with motion

See your doctor: Menorrhagia is the most common type of abnormal uterine bleeding characterized by heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding. There are several possible causes of menorrhagia including: Adenomyosis
Uterine fibroids
Infection, tumors, or polyps
PID 
Rather than your very recent BTL being the cause of the bleeding, it is more likely to be because of one of the above. You need an ultrasound + examination

Abortion/tampons: Generally noting should be placed in the vagina for up to a week following an abortion.   If you are still bleeding - use pads.   After about a week you should be safe to use tampons - just change them frequently and if you start to notice an odor or run a fever call your doctor immediately.

Yes: You can use tampons and the NuvaRing together if needed.  Follow the normal safety rules for tampons--do not leave tampons in beyond normal maximal length of time.
If you accidentally pull out the NuvaRing when removing your tampon, rinse off the NuvaRing in cool to lukewarm water (never hot water as you can damage it) and reinsert.

i took plan b in a 4 day interval and after the second time i started bleeding. should i be worried? and is it safe to use tampons?

Accepted Answer

Plan B: Very common for Plan B to cause irregularity in your periods. It should normalize over the next month. Yes tampons are fine.  Consider using a regular birth control method instead of multiple uses of Plan B.
