In general this: would be OK. You don't want to exceed 4 grams total of Tylenol (acetaminophen) per day from all sources combined.

i took aleve (naproxen) around 11 am. this morning, it is now 4:30 pm, is it safe to take advil.  i pulled a muscle in my shoulder and damaged a rib?

NSAIDS: NSAIDs (the common over the counter anti-inflammatories) are good for muscle strains and overuse injuries. Aleve (naproxen) and Advil (ibuprofen) are common NSAIDs. Recommend you stick with one or the other. I like naproxen (Aleve) dosed 500 mg 2 times daily with food. Ibuprofen (Advil) is dosed 800 mg 3 times daily, so less convenient. Save $$ and buy naproxen (same as Aleve) but lower cost

i am taking lorazepam and tizanidine due to a serious knee break  and problems with it  i am having problems sleeping  can i take aleve pm along with these other drugs safely?

: Suggest you review these meds and concerns with your doctor before you add anything else to the mix.  Review what the specific problems with sleepare such as difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep etc.  She/he may want to adjust your medication dosage(s) or try something new but you don’t want, or need, multiple meds if you can help it.

Yes: Be aware that there are different formulations of nyquil but the one you named does not duplicate Aleve (naproxen) or drugs like that.  So you should be okay.

: Since the dosage in nonprescription Aleve is less than prescription strength naproxen, there shouldn't be a problem with your taking 3 within 24 hours unless you have medical contraindications or intolerance to NSAIDs.

i took aleve (2 pills) around 11 pm for a toothache. it's not 3:08 am and the pain hasn't gone away can i take excedrin?

No: Alive and Excedrin are both NSAIDs, and you may exceed daily allowance.  Toothache usually caused by infection, and pain killers will not cure infected tooth.  For a cure you need to see your General Dentist or an Endodontics Specialist.  Call Dentist or Endodontist's office now.  Leave message, they will call you back 1st thing AM.

Aleve/Naproxen: Naproxen should be taken two times a day. So yes, that is a little too much. I would stick with Tylenol for pain or try local measures.

It won't happen: Tiredness or sleepiness is not a side effect of naproxen (Aleve and other brands).
